These photos were taken at An An, Alaska which is a brear preserve. No hunting has been allowed for 40 years. The bears are habituated to Man and as long as we photographers stayed in our area, the bears could be viewed doing bear things. There was an armed ranger there, who told me that in 40 years, no bear has been shot. Each species respects the other as long as we don't interfere with each other.
