The Missing Cub

We spotted a female with 4 cubs...

But when the mother started to walk down the hill, we only saw 3.

Walking with her cubs down the hill, she kept calling for her missing one...

When they reached the forest at the bottom of the hill, she turned and continued calling. Resigned after a long wait, she turned and disappeared with her three remaining cubs, into the forest.

Searching for a long period of time, we saw movement up the hill and slowly realized it was the missing cub. It was struggling to move and only when it was near, we saw that it's back and hind legs had been crushed. Perhaps a buffalo or a male lion had tried to kill it.
